Wild Hyacinth Bulbs (Triteleia hyacinthina) - (20 Ct.)
Another splendidly long-lived western wildflower with an edible bulb.
Also known as white brodiaea, and fool’s onion, this is a plant that can grow anywhere camas grows – preferring “wet winter/dry summer” locations from British Columbia to south into central California, and from western Nevada and Idaho to the Pacific Coast.
This is a good rain garden plant, and a good species for sometimes soggy but sunny meadows. With care, this also a wildflower can survive to meet our descendants, many generations from now.
Available in two variants:
Small 3-5 year old bulbs (20-count)
-or-
Medium-sized 4 to 6 year old bulbs(20-count)
Note that the small-sized bulbs are just beginning to reach their flowering age, while the medium-sized ones will mostly all send up flowers in their first or second year after planting.
This is a wonderfully long-lived species with individual plants probably capable of reaching much more than a century in age.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to phytosanitary restrictions, we are unable to ship bulbs to Canada.
