KyoUna Kyoto Green Mizuna (京菜ミズナ)

A traditional Kansai-region type mizuna -- the origins of this plant possibly date back more than 1200-years. Mizuna is a Japanese superfood, rich in antioxidants, Vitamins C, K, A as well as Calcium and iron.

Peppery but milder than arugula, mizuna is excellent both cooked (in nabe / hotpot) dishes, and is also great in salads.  

Our traditional variety matures in about 40-days, and is great for multiple succession plantings during the year. Start it early spring (it has good tolerance to cold weather), and again in mid-summer for continuous harvests all the way into late fall.

Mizuna can typically withstand multiple cuttings. Plant it densely for microgreens, or more widely spaced for larger, more mature plants.
