Yellow Pear Tomato Seeds 'Fort Vancouver'
One of the most prolific cool climate and short growing season tomato varieties -- and one of the oldest historic tomato types in the U.S.
Fort Vancouver is a sweet, 1 to 2-inch pear-shaped yellow tomato, one that shines in tomato preserves, salads, salsa, old time tomato pies, and more. With approximately 75 days to the first crop, this exuberant plant will grace you with repeated massive harvests until the autumn cold shuts it down.
Named after the Hudson Bay Company's Fort Vancouver, where yellow pear tomatoes were cultivated as early as 1825, this hardy plant thrives with good sun exposure (plant it against a south-facing wall), adequate moisture, and fertile soil. It can reach over 5 feet in height, producing a more than generous yield of fruit.
For best results, start seeds indoors and transplant outside once temperatures reach the mid-60s. This plant needs trellising for optimal growth and performance.
Includes 100+ seeds (0.2 grams).
