Riverbank Lupine Seeds (Lupinus rivularis)
A great plant for tough sandy and gravel sites!
In wild settings this big, bushy plant typically occurs on gravel outwashes and sandbars. This adaptation to disturbance makes it a great choice for erosion-prone areas that need quick stabilization. Its fast growth and short lifespan (usually about 2 years) also makes it very competitive against weeds, and a useful plant for helping to pave the way for slower-growing native perennials.
For us, it works great in combination with Puget gumweed and Roemer's fescue as a simple, pollinator-friendly combination for spots with terrible soil and harsh exposure: parking strips, freeway medians, gravel pits, and areas with thin topsoil.
Approximately 125 seeds per packet.
